Bellamy Bridge Heritage Trail

Step into one of Jackson County’s most iconic and historic outdoor destinations at Bellamy Bridge Heritage Trail. This scenic trail winds through a beautiful cypress swamp along the Chipola River, leading visitors to the hauntingly beautiful ruins of the historic Bellamy Bridge—one of Florida’s oldest surviving steel-frame bridges.

Stretching approximately half a mile, the trail features a well-maintained boardwalk and natural path, making it an easy and enjoyable walk for visitors of all ages. Along the way, you’ll be surrounded by towering trees, native wildlife, and the peaceful sounds of nature, offering a perfect escape into North Florida’s natural beauty.

Rich in history and local legend, the bridge is also known for the tale of Elizabeth Jane Bellamy, adding a layer of intrigue to this already memorable experience. The Chipola River Greenway is a stunning 291-acre chain of five parcels located along the river’s west side. Citizen's Lodge Park

This scenic park, located on the Chipola River and Caverns Road, is a real jewel. Six trails range from paved to unpaved and from ½ mile to 2 miles, as well as a fitness trail, which will increase fitness level. A gazebo overlooks a gorgeous pond along the trail, and outdoor picnic tables host reunions, parties, and events. The outdoor stage serves as a venue for many festivals, events, and the Summer Concert Series. The disc golf course is one of the top courses in the region.

Also, be sure to enjoy a round of Disc Golf. 18 holes at Citizens’ Lodge Park. Dual tees and baskets. Wildflower shul and some swamp areas can come into play.

Florida Caverns State Park

Cave Tour Information:
To experience the caverns, reservations are highly recommended. Visitors must reserve their tour at floridacaverns.com or stop by the park’s gift shop to check availability. Tours can fill up quickly, especially during peak seasons, so planning is encouraged.

Hinson Conservation Trail

Hinson Conservation and Recreation Area were completed in 2012 under a partnership between the Florida Trail Association and the City of Marianna. In 2012, the Department of the Interior designated Hinson Conservation & Recreation Area as a National Recreational Trail.

The trailhead begins at the scenic Chipola River and turns to form a four-mile loop around the park, passing caves?? sinkholes and short bluffs along the 226 acres. Birding and wildlife enthusiasts love this park for its great spotting. The park is located one mile south of Marianna on Highway 73, open from daylight to sundown. There is a boat landing available to put into the Chipola River.

Jackson Blue Springs

The only first-magnitude spring in the Chipola River Basin. Beautiful Blue Springs was called Calistoble Spring by the Spanish who camped here many times in 1674-1693. It is described in their journals and reports as a beautiful, clear spring surrounded by hills on which herds of buffalo grazed! Now a popular park operated by

Jackson County, the spring is a noted destination for swimming, hiking, picnicking, and scuba diving (the latter requires a county permit).
